Just got home from our 2nd Annual Kids Day in the Park and let me take this moment to thank all the workers who came out and made this another huge success! We had close to 30 helpers and everyone worked pretty much straight through to the end. Special thanks to the Hodges (and our friends at First United Methodist) who went out of there way to pay for, pick up and organize all the inflatables!

Thanks to God for holding off the rain until just before closing and giving us a spirit of love and cooperation!  I was truly amazed at how smoothly everything flowed and how little direction people needed. It is such a joy to see folks looking for ways to bless and encourage others...that's what faith looks like. As Martin Luther wrote in his "Preface to the book of Romans":

"Faith doesn't ask whether good works are to be done, but, before it is asked, it has done them. It is always active."

There is plenty more to say and we'll certainly have more updates in future newsletters. For now, please add a comment on your reflections of the day.

Re: KIDS DAY IN THE PARK

God blessed Holly and I the opportunity to work on Kids Day in The Park. As with other God events we have been involved with He provided everything needed for a successful day. Here are some examples. Not many people were at the meetings to prepare for this event, but there was a good crowd of helpers on the day of the event. As we were setting up everyone expressed concern about the lack of trash cans, but sure enough a short time later town employees brought over trash cans! Rain was forecasted, but none fell on Amesbury Town Park until the event was just about over.

I took pictures most of the time, so I got to see everybody in action. I must say most everyone seemed to have a great time! One of my observations is that most of the older helpers acted like kids and the younger helpers like mature adults. I would not change a thing. Pray to God and he will provide.

it was cool to see all the helpers running around in their lime green shirts. we were all easy to find. i told dick calderwood that if he wore his to bed he would glow in the dark. its always nice to get together with other christians. thank God for all of you. G. O.

Re: KIDS DAY IN THE PARK

I thought it went off with a great sucess. It was pleasure working with all of the great members of both church's . Tom and David Hodge worked great along side all of us and help keep things running smooth. The weather was the only weakness but it did'nt hurt the spirit and togetherness of all the workers. Looking forward to next years Kids Day In The Park.. GOD BLESS YOU ALL Dana

Re: KIDS DAY IN THE PARK

We (Tom, David and I) thought it such a blessing to work with our brothers and sisters at MSBC again this year. We were able to witness what God can do first hand and share that with many there. For example. several people commented on how "lucky" we were that the rain held off; we were able to respond that it was not luck but an answer to many prayers. One of our youth, who was not with us last year, stated that he can't wait to help again next year. We are looking forward to it also.
