Easter Sunday is seven weeks away and to help prepare ourselves for this great celebration, we will be having a special focus on corporate and personal prayer. After Jesus ascended into heaven, the early church devoted themselves to constant corporate prayer (Acts 1:14), and God answered and expanded His Kingdom on earth in response. This is our great privilege today that we can pray with the same kind of boldness and fervency. Toward that end, we have a 3-fold approach to this:

Private Prayer: in the bulletins on February 22 and March 1 and availble in the church office or by request are cards that contain the names of 10 families from our church. Please take this home and put it in your bible and pray for these families. Pray for…

  • Increasing measures of faith to trust Christ and believe the Gospel in spite of circumstances and love for others (Ephesians 3:17-19; Philippians 1:9-11)
  • Wisdom to discern God’s will and direction in this life. (James 1:5-8)
  • Protection from the evil one and strength to resist temptation. (Matthew 6:13)
  • That God would meet their daily needs and remove all anxiety. (Philippians 4:6-7)
  • Any personal requests that you might be aware of…

Corporate Prayer: We are also planning on having daily prayer meetings throughout the week. Several of our small groups will be taking 20-30 minutes to pray during their regular schedule meetings during the week, and we’ll be starting a prayer meeting on Friday mornings for these 7 weeks, as well as encourage families to pray on Saturdays.

  • Sundays: 9 – 9:30 am prayer before worship service in Sanctuary (OPEN)
  • Monday morning Women’s Group and Men’s Group
  • Tuesday evening Women’s Group and Men’s Group
  • Wednesday evening Couples Group
  • Thursday evening Praise Team Practice
  • Friday morning Prayer 7 – 7:30 am in Church Office (OPEN)
  • Saturday morning Prayer in Homes with Family

The Basic format for these 20-30 minutes of prayer is to read the promises for the week, and then read the Requests. Use these to guide your time of prayer.  Pray in a general way or a specific way. NOTE: Don’t spend too much time talking about prayer…make sure you pray!
